I can’t remember ever having made my own Valentines. Actually, I can’t remember a lot of things from my youth…but that’s a subject for another time.
I had so much fun putting these together. I was determined to use what I have on hand. The urge to run to the craft store struck several times and I have to wonder why it is that I constantly feel the need to have newer, better stuff when I already have so much? Deep stuff, people…and most definitely a subject for another post.
So, this is what I used:
My Cricut
Cricut cartridge Hoon N Holler {owl layer}
Crucut cartridge Plantin Schoolbook {tags}
Various scrap booking papers
Buttons {eyes}
“To & From” stamps
Alphabet stamps
Raspberry, Christmas Green, & Chocolate brown stamps
Tulle
Ribbon
And here are the finished products:
I’m not sure if any of the guys at work are participating in our Valentine’s exchange, so just in case, I put together a few “boy” Valentines:
I have yet to come up with my little Valentine mail box to collect all the exchanged Valentines….remember decorating those back in grade school?
I’m finishing up some goodies to take in for our {old-school} class party. I have cute little bags of caramel corn, strawberry frosted cupcakes, and these adorable Marshmallow Pops I’ve seen around the web. So easy and fun to make.
To make these:
Strawberry flavored marshmallows
Chocolate candy coating
Valentine non-pereils {Hobby Lobby}
Candy coated chocolates {TJ Maxx}
Sucker sticks
Place marshmallows on sucker sticks. Melt chocolate candy coating. Dip marshmallows and swirl to coat. Sprinkle with nonpareils and top with candy coated chocolates. These set up fairly quickly. I placed mine in clear plastic candy bags and tied with a twisty for presentation.
I feel like a little kid anticipating a school Valentine party….I’m hoping it will be a good day {Mondays are generally crazy busy for me at work}.
So, what do you have planned for Heart Day??
