It’s been quiet here at the cove this week. The both of us have a bit of a bug and we’ve been lying low.
All over the social media world there’s talk of last days of school and first days of summer vacations. I miss the anticipation of a whole summer off. I have plenty of vacation time but not enough funds to actually go abroad.
I’m fairly certain Mother Nature was trying to tell me something yesterday morning and then again that evening; adventure is all around you. Follow the rainbow and make your own adventure here at home. The rainbow just happened to end right outside my front door.

It’s hard to argue with that. So, without further ado and without a last day and first day to report:
Five things I’m looking forward to this summer:
1. A trip home to {Michigan} in July.
2. Rereading every single Harry Potter & rewatching every movie. {I have a reading list a mile long yet I’m missing HP almost as much as my family, is that weird?}
3. S’mores.
4. Salsa Verde! Tomatilla plants located, planted, and looking mighty fine!
5. Warm breezes, hot nights, star gazing, cold sips, staying up late, and sleep-ins. Sounds like a perfect summer to me.

Bean2Blog continued... The day started off cooler than normal and cloudy. There was a threat of some severe storms; it had stormed the night before and in the early hours of that morning. I packed up some rain gear {hurriedly purchased the night before and on the way to the event, too}. I thought the cloudy skies made for a dramatic background for our tour of Moss Mountain Farm. Luckily, the weather held out for most of our outside tour.
The farm was lovely. The gardens were beautifully manicured but the previous nights storm had done a number on the delicate blooms. P. Allen {I lurve saying P. Allen, btw} joked that if “we’d been there just last week” we would have gotten to enjoy the blooms in all their real glory. I thought they were beautiful still. Wet, droopy. Petals strewn around our feet as we made our way through the garden rooms. Lovely.
I would love to live on a farm like Moss Mountain- as long as there was someone to do the weeding. And planting. And muckin’ out all those stalls. I’d throw parties, cook in the lovely kitchen, and serve drinks in one of the garden rooms. Yep…I’d totally rock at that.
I’m so glad I was able to get to learn more about Arkansas soybeans. I take pride in my adopted home state and consider myself lucky to be able to live here.
