I found the inspiration for this Mint Hot Cocoa as a McD’s copycat Shamrock Shake recipe. But, since we’re in the middle of winter and peppermint takes cocoa up a notch, I decided why not?
Mint hot cocoa is lovely any time of year.
Mint Hot Cocoa
The recipe is fairly straight forward and much like many of the hot cocoa recipes I’ve tried in the past. The only difference? Peppermint extract added to the cocoa and the whipped cream. The “spin” on this pin? I used chocolate chips instead of bar chocolate and the outcome was just as delicious and chocolatey! Highly recommend.
You can see the mint hot cocoa pin on my Beverages board, along with a plethora of other tasty concoctions (most of which are fruity drinks to be made this summer).
Tell me, would you enjoy a hot cup of mint hot cocoa? Or, do you prefer yours with just cocoa?

I would totally be down for a cup of mint hot cocoa. But I think I need to also try just a cup of regular cocoa first … I couldn’t tell you the last time I had one. I think I convinced myself I didn’t like it at some point? Weird, considering I loOooooOoOooOve chocolate.

I should go back and add that I needed to add a little more milk after this cooled down. I went a little crazy with the chocolate chips and may have added extra! It’s so easy to make. DO IT!
