You guys. October went crazy fast, didn’t it? My most favorite month flew by without much of my normal October/Autum fanfare. I baked only one batch of Killer Pumpkin Bars, which now that I’m thinking about it, probably answers my question about how I lost two pounds last week without even trying.
While the challenges of work in October have been met and my focus there can relax a bit, home life in November will be about playing catch up. Chores and plans I had for last month didn’t work out and so we’ll work to get those goals accomplished along with my November goals.
Here are my November Goals:
- Post every day. Yep, I’m participating in #NaBloPoMo again this year. One post, every day. All. Month. Long.
- Get the huge “donations” box (that has been sitting in my living room since May) to the donation center.
- Plan a Thanksgiving meal with new recipes.
- Catch up on my writing class work.
- Clean and organize the crafroom.
- Practice and show gratefulness every day.
- Resume working toward a major life/job change for 2017.
- Begin learning and practicing hand lettering.
- Plan for and carry through with Friday Five Live videos over on Facebook.
I look at this list and I feel overwhelmed. I mean, have you seen my craftroom? Of course you haven’t. I can barely get in there myself. I say overwhelmed because I’ve been so lazy these past few months and blaming that laziness on work when, really, I should have been working harder and smarter with the hours I’ve had.
So, that’s it. Seems doable, right? Riggghhht? Do you map out monthly goals? And, what does your process look like for getting them accomplished? Tell me in the comments below. As always, you can join in the conversation over on the DesperatelySeekingGina Facebook page as well.

Yes, I do plan minutely for November, only. I do not do any of the Nano stuff, but we plan for 25 people to be at our house for 3 or 4 days, during Thanksgiving and…yeah, there’s a bit of planning with that.
Happily, I can say that the men cook the meat, so I get to concentrate on fruitcake, cookies, and pies. 🙂
And my beloved daughters-in-law cook most of the rest. My main chore is beds for 25. And all the pillowcases are already ironed, so…still a lot to do, like make all those beds and clean floors, etc. Still a lot, yep, but so much fun. We love this weekend and all it means for our family. 🙂

That sounds like the best Thanksgiving and I can only imagine the planning you have to do! But it’s so enjoyable and worth it. Soak up every second of that family time! <3

I feel the same way about October. Where did it go?! You do have a pretty ambitious list, but maybe some of it can be combined. Blog about something in that writing class, hand lettering–show us your progress, tell us what you’re cooking for Thanksgiving. You could leave that craft room for another time. Even make it a New Year’s Resolution. You go, Girl.

Great ideas, Mrs. Dorothy! Thank you! I will definitely report on my progress. So far-crickets. Hahahaha
