Are you like me and a major holiday craft hoarder? I’ve had this set of bottle brush trees in my stash for a while awaiting the perfect opportunity to use them. It occurred to me that I haven’t used them because they didn’t match any of my holiday decor. When I thought of the perfect project to use them with, I had to figure out how to get them to match. And, then, it hit me. I had all the supplies on hand (and if I hadn’t it would have been super easy to get them).
**disclosure-as a member of the Canvas Corp Creative Crew I was provided with the materials to share this craft and no other compensation was received. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make this site possible.**
I love using these Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mists and am surprised it took me so long to figure out they’d be perfect for re-coloring my bottle brush trees. And, it was SO easy. Here’s what I did.
Bottle Brush Trees: How to re-color them to match any holiday decor
Supplies:
- Assorted Bottle Brush Trees
- Assorted Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists & Chalkboard Paint
- Painter’s tape or Washi tape
How to:
- Wrap and/or cover base with washi tape (or painter’s tape, if using)
- Spray tree
- How easy is that?
Repeat with every color Canvas Corp offers. It’s so hard to choose but this Chalkboard color is my absolute fave!
I have to confess. I love these so much I’m planning on getting myself to the craft store straight after work tomorrow so I can have a forest full of these lovelies.
I also think I need to totally guild the lily by adding some glitter. Don’t you think that is a great idea? Tell me in the comments below or join in the conversation over at the Desperately Seeking Gina Facebook page. (And, if you don’t think it’s a great idea, go ahead, tell me that, too)
