….Missing Aunt Gina
Okay, How adorable is this? Thanks Tyler…I miss you too. This idea undoubtedly came from Nana.
A big hello to Anthony!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Hope you guys had a good half day off of school!
Another day down at the Maxx. 3-day recap: The customers are super friendly and much more patient and understanding than the store I came from. The associates are nice and pretty much the same as anyone I’ve worked with before. The store has a lot more payroll than I’m used to and there are tons of associates working day and night. They actually have scheduled cashiers and refund people so that the department people can actually get some things accomplished. Oh yea…and coordinators are actually scheduled as coordinators and get to have people working in their departments. Amazing. The store is clean and well organized…and it has SO MUCH COOL MERCHANDISE! The giftware/kitchenware department is seriously dangerous. So much fun stuff that I can’t afford {sigh}.
So….the drive is an hour to and from work. B O R I N G. I’ve been making calls to friends and fam during that time..so that’s good. The first two days I drove my car…and today I drove Thom’s car cuz it was supposed to storm and rain heavily…and you guys know how much I hate driving in pouring rain {remember senior pics in the rain ? LOL}
Anyway…My feet hurt. lol. SO not used to being on my feet all day. And SO MISSING my rolly chair and my two little offices 🙁
Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! Thom and I have no plans. We might go out to dinner. I’d planned on having a little Thanksgiving picnic and taking the boat out to the lake but as it happens this will be the coldest Turkey Day since Thom’s lived here. Only in the 50’s. A bit too cold for cruisin the lake 🙂 Even for this cold-blooded Yankee.
‘Night friends…I’m off to bed for the night! Feel friend to send me slices of pie…and don’t forget the whipped topping!

….New Toy and New Job
Finally got set up with my own cell since I start work tomorry-oh! {the drive is a l o n g one} I love this little phone…Thom thinks I’m crazy cuz I’ve spent all weekend playing around with the functions and setting and resetting the ringtones. I just happen to find the utmost pleasure in small things 🙂 I spent this morning scouring Ebay for a cute little protective cover for the phone..but I couldn’t choose….so I bought 2 🙂
…His idea of fun
…is to make me squeal.
Remember when I wrote about the towns at the bottom of the lake? Well…in a lot of areas, roads just end in water. We’ll be driving along, and the road just goes right into the lake. If we’re in an area where the lake is narrow, the other side of the road can be seen emerging from Greers Ferry. It’s pretty odd.
So…Thom’s idea of fun is to drive really, really fast toward the end of the road and stopping right at the water’s edge, making me squeal loudly and grab the “oh shit” handle.
Yesterday we drove to the little town of Greers Ferry which is on the other side of the lake. This time he actually drove into the water. He’s crazy. And I had to get some pics 🙂 This was devil’s fork, I think.
*sigh* Vacation time is almost over. It’s back to work on Monday..and I just got some not-so-great news from my new boss. They’ve decided to use me at the frontlines instead…a job that I dread. Really dread. Hate actually. So now I’m doubly quadruply dreading going back to work. I guess I’ll just have to work through it 🙁
Hope you all have a great weekend.

…Get ready for EXCLAMATIONS
See Me?!?! Still doing great in Arkansas! That’s me in Little Rock, Arkansas. Thom showed me around on Saturday. Little Rock looked nothing like I thought it would! It’s smaller than Grand Rapids! Did some more shopping 🙂 I think that’s pretty much all I’ve done since I’ve been here….and I can’t even say I’ve bought any souveniers! I did, however, buy the cutest little pair of knitted red & pink slippers. I’ve been wanting to shop at a SteinMart for forever, and there’s one an hour away. Plus…there’s a boatload of Plus Size stores in Little Rock. I must come up with other reasons to drive there often 😉
*Sigh* Hooked up Thom’s camera to the computer and got the picture fix I’ve been craving 🙂 Uploaded a bunch of pics to Flickr that can be seen here.
So…I’m on vacation…and I’ve been super lazy. Thom’s been showing me around Heber and I’m getting a feel for where things are. I drove to Sonic tonight, all by myself 🙂 I think it was the smell of burgers that led the way, but anyway, I digress.
I helped Thom clean up his fishing boat tonight. I’m so wanting to get out on the lake to get a different perspective. Greers Ferry Lake is so pretty…and I can only imagine what Heber looks like from the water. Also, I’m completely fascinated by the lake itself. It was a man made lake…made in the 60’s I think {I can’t wait to get my hands of Thom’s books about the lake}. It was made by flooding 6 towns! Can you imagine? There are six towns at the bottom of the lake! Buildings and all!
The weather here is SO AWESOME!!!! It’s been in the high 70’s and today it was 80!!
I’ve lost 3 pounds since I’ve been here!! Thom assures me that the bathroom scale is accurate 😉 This is an amazing event as I’ve been treated to Sonic 2 times in a week and Thom bought me a slice of Oreo Cookie Fudge and it was consumed within 24 hours {despite it not being the greatest slice of fudgeI’ve ever had..will I ever meet up again with that delectible St. Louis Oreo fudge?}
Last week while in Hastings Bookstore I bought this cool little Book of Arkansas Facts and I’d thought I’d share some facts with you folks. Look for them along my sidebar ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>>
Hope you enjoy!

Amazing Arkansas Fact #441
“Toad Suck near Conway was an Arkansas River ferry until 1970. Once the site of a tavern where fishermen enjoyed their liquor, it caused a traveler to comment, “Those fellows suck at a bottle ’til they swell up like toads.” Now ’tis the site of the annual Toad Suck Daze.”
