…You’re gonna Love-a-ah the Baklava
Thom LOVES baklava….and since his Christmas gift {baklava from Harry & David} is all gone, I’ve been making these muffins. They’re nowhere near as good as the real thing…but Thom claims to love them even more than the Pecan Pie Cupcakes. And that’s definitely sayin‘ somethin‘. I’m not a fan of Baklava…but I’m craving these tonight. Thom’s out buying the honey 🙂

…Ice, Ice Baby
Ya wanna hear something weird? I’ve enjoyed more Snow days in Arkansas than I ever did in Michigan. It iced again last night, and this morning there is half an inch covering everything. So…I got to sleep in 🙂
I’m fighting a head cold and have been losing the battle. I have a terrible cough. I really just want to crawl into bed and sleep away {which is what I did most of the weekend}. Instead I will surf the net awhile {another baby shower to plan for my cousin Jason and his wife Tanya}. {sigh} Another one of my “little” cousins all grown up! Then, I will curl up on the couch and watch t.v. …perhaps do some crafting {last night I was dreaming about a scrapbook layout using acetate paper}. Oh….who am I kidding? I’ll be napping on the couch if you need me 🙂
Happy Tuesday!
Edited: The satellite is outtie–will have to read instead. BTW. Yesterday was an awesome mail day. Received a scrappy package I ordered last week…and also received a box-o-goodies from Mom that included her homemade fudge!! Do I have the bested Mom, or what?
…Just out of Curiosity
I added a little poll to the ole blog….just out of curiosity. I’m a people watcher and I’ve noticed that people in the South eat their bagels, rolls, biscuits sandwich style. My boyfriend included. I’ve never actually mentioned this to him, lest he thinks I’m a total weirdo, but I think eating them that way is…..{pause}……interesting. I prefer eating mine open faced for two reasons:
a. It seems as if I’m eating two portions. I can save one for now, and one for later-if I so choose. Thom would probably point out that I never choose to save anything for later. heh.
and…
b. Eating them Open-faced allows one to add more topping, whether it be jelly, cream cheese, or butt-ah.
Last night, for instance, I had my new fave dinner/breakfast/lunch. Thom’s awesomely scrambled eggs atop a mucho-cream cheesed honey wheat bagel, freckled with a tiny bit of salt and lots of black pepper. Yum-O.
It’s a slow/no news week, friends 🙂
…Way Back Wednesday
For this week’s Way Back Wednesday post, I closed my eyes and reached into my old, ragged, falling-apart photo album and this is what I pulled out. It’s my parents. I’m not sure why, exactly, it is that I am in possession of this parental porn….but it did start me thinking about them. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed my parents kissing passionately. I don’t recall my parents ever showing any passion for each other and it makes me wonder if they experienced those feelings for one another. I’m assuming they did. I’m assuming they, too, were once hormonally charged teenagers. I wonder if it is their all-consuming passion that prompted them to marry so young {mom was 16, dad was 19}.
The picture also stirs up some other questions. For instance: Who was taking the picture? Why was someone taking the picture? Were my parents wearing pants?
And….there is only half a picture…what happened the rest of it? I’m lucky that there’s still time to find out the answers. That’s if the answers aren’t too yucky 🙂
