Oh my! What in the world is that bright, burning, glowing orb way up there in the sky? Could it be? The Sun? We’re finally starting to dry out down here. It literally rained for a week straight.

I vaguely remember having a pen pal….in the 7th grade {I think}. The older I get the more sketchy my memory becomes; I don’t remember actually writing to her or receiving anything in return….but we must have communicated at least once in order for me to have the picture, right?
The back of the pic contains her childhood handwriting: Martha Rotolo, New York 1988 {I think this was seventh grade}
So, Martha….if you’re out there… Hi! Remember me? Here’s a pic of me back then to refresh your memory 🙂
11:30 pm
The house is dark and quiet. Open window directly on my left. Listening to raindrops and rolls of thunder. Smelling earth and ozone. Feeling refreshed.
Spring in the South is a beautiful thing my friends. It’s been sunny and warm the last few days and I spent a lovely weekend with Thom.
On Saturday we drove down to my fave part of Little Rock, the west side, and tried out a new-to-us restaurant- Genghis Grill – The Mongolian Stir Fry. It’s a build-your-own-bowl style restaurant. I thought it was quite good….and it totally satiated my craving for Asian cuisine. I just happened to have my handy-dandy little Fuji to document the meal 🙂

Today was quite productive. I was up early and headed out to pick up our PO mail and do some grocery shopping. Then, Thom and I headed over to the house to do some work. Thom put up another hummingbird feeder. Last week we noticed a couple of hummingbirds hanging around and I named them both Snitch {Harry Potter reference~The Golden Snitch} because I can’t tell the two apart. I stalked them today to try and get a good pic:

Thom also hung my lovely basket of Petunias on the front deck. The porch is beginning to look pretty homey 🙂

There’s not a lot on my plate for the week….but I do have Toad Suck Daze to look forward to at the end of the week. I missed last year’s festival cuz of our Spring trip to {Mich}. Too bad I didn’t get myself a toady for the Championship Toad Races. Maybe next year.
