Easy Valentine Sugar Cookie Bars

Valentine’s Day is approaching and while many couples are starting to think about Valentine’s Day gifts and mementos to show their true love, I’m quite happy with sweets, like these Easy Valentine Sugar Cookie Bars. I’d rather have a batch of freshly made sugar cookies than a bouquet of flowers any day. Don’t get me wrong. I love flowers and I love receiving flowers, but buttercream frosting really is the way to my heart. This sugar cookie recipe is SO EASY, even Thom, who hates baking, can whip these up without any problems or hassle. (ahem, hint hint)

19 for 2019 | A Fun To-Do List

Hey, friends! I’ve had sort of a winter break these first couple of weeks of 2019 but I’m back with my 19 for 2019 list. It’s a fun way to kick those resolutions to the curb and do something fun instead: a list of 19 thing to do, see, accomplish in 2019.

In the past I’ve done the One Little Word practice. I’ve been choosing a word to focus on since 2007! I have a word for this year, too, but I’m loving the idea of 19 for 2019 in addition.

Eat Your Heart Out Fried Avocado

Have you ever had a Fried Avocado? Me neither, but after seeing these amazing pictures, I’m dying to try. I’m a total avocado newbie of recent years. Thom’s guacamole gives me life. In fact, there is a huge bowl of it in the ‘fridge right now just calling out to me, but I have’t eaten “just avocado” very much; on toast a couple of times over the summer, but honestly it got kind of boring eating avocado the same way. Today, though, that’s about to change…

City of Batesville Christmas Tour of Lights

After twelve years, one would think I’d know everything about Arkansas. How did I not know about the City of Batesville Christmas Tour of Lights? Batesville is just an hour north of where I live and a quaint town that has been growing on me this last year. I helped open the TJ Maxx there back in May and spent a couple of weeks driving back and forth. The people are super friendly, the town busy and thriving (at least I think it’s thriving), and now I know that it’s magical at Christmas.
