Scoring & cutting card stock and adding a bit of Halloween ephemera is all it takes to put together these fun favor boxes. Let’s do it!
Happy Halloween Trick or Treat Boxes
Gather these supplies:
- Black Card Stock (8.5 x 11)
- Halloween Die Cuts (I used a pack of Echo Park die cuts I got from Tuesday Morning but these are similar)
- Other Halloween ephemera, felt eyeballs, googly eyes, etc.
- Scoreboard
- Foam Adhesive Dots
- Glue (this is my ABSOLUTE FAVE GLUE)
- Utility knife
To make box:
- Cut one sheet of card stock down to 10 inches by 7 inches.
- On the long side score at: 1 1/2″, 4 1/2″, 6″, 9″
- On the short side score at: 1/2″, 2″, 5″, 6 1/2″
- Fold score lines.
- Using the guides below: (the solid white lines are score lines)
- Cut away all the filled in portions.
- Cut scored lines along the side.
- Round the lid flap corners and the longer side panels.
- Apply glue to portions labeled: “Glue A, Glue B, Glue C, Glue D”
- Fold up the glued flaps and affix to side panels labeled A,B,C,D.
- Fold down lid flap.
Crafty Tip: If you don’t have a scoreboard, simply use a ruler to mark your lines. Hold the ruler in place. Run a popsicle stick along the ruler in order to make score marks.
To embellish:
- Cut tiny slits in the lid of the box. Make sure they’re just big enough to hold the die cut.
- Insert ephemera, flip over and fold the die cut piece. Tape to the lid if needed. (I didn’t have to tape anything)
- Decorate as desired. Affix spooky eyes and other flat ephemera with dimensional adhesive dots.
- Fill with candy. I filled a cellophane baggie with a candy corn mix.
These party favor boxes can be used for any party theme! Change up the color of card stock. Embellish with stickers instead of die cuts. Fill with tricks or small toys. The possibilities are endless.
