It may have been a bajillion degrees outside despite being the middle of September when I got into the reading mood, but I shouldn’t have expected anything other than a scorching hot beginning to fall here in Arkansas. I have been here almost 12 years, after all, and it hasn’t stopped me from turning the air down low and compiling my cozy mysteries fall reading list.

It’s been a long while since I’ve shared what I’m reading. Keep up with me over on GoodReads for updates. I’ve almost doubled my reading challenge for 2019! Now…let’s talk about cozy mysteries, shall we?
Cozy Mysteries Fall Reading List
I’ve always loved a good food mystery book. I was SO tickled to find there is an entire fall/Halloween/pumpkin cozy mystery genre! Here are just a few I’ve read over the last month.
I was happy to find the author Kathi Daley who has several cozy mystery series. Of course, I dove right in to several of the series.
I started with The Halloween House. It’s part of the Tess & Tilly Cozy Mystery Book Series. Tess is a mail carrier who brings her dog Tilly along with her while she works. This is book 4 of the series and since I was only interested in reading fall/Halloween related books at the time, I wondered if it would matter to dive in at book 4. It didn’t. The book stands well on its own. I will definitely be going back and reading the series from the beginning. In this tale, a mysterious new owner moves into the town’s Halloween House which has a spooky & sinister past.
The Curse of Hollister House by the same author, introduces us to Callie who was a professional pianist until a terrible accident shattered her world and sent her back home to Hollister House where she lives with her aunt and the mysterious cat in the attic.
The Pumpkin Hollow Mystery series by Kathleen Suzette is my current favorite pumpkin themed cozy mystery so far. I’ve read all 10 books since the beginning of September. It’s easy to read each short book in one day (at least for me, because I’m a fast reader).
This series takes place in a small, cozy town called Pumpkin Hollow. And, get this-this town celebrates Halloween ALL YEAR ROUND. How awesome is that? I would love to live in a town that has Halloween every single day.
I know I said the previous book was my fave but The Ghost of Marlow House (Haunting Danielle Series) is a close, very close, second favorite. Danielle inherits a beautiful old mansion which is, you guessed it, haunted. I may have a crush on a ghost. Hahahahha. This is a bit longer than most cozy mysteries but definitely an easy, fun read.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this new book from Kerry Anne King. I discovered this author last year as one of my monthly Amazon Prime First Reads picks, Whisper Me This. Everything You Are was just as good, nay, was better than the first book. I could not put this story down. It was magical.
