The idea for the Easy Easter Egg Door Hanger popped into my head one morning as I sat down to work at my craft table. It was a mess. You see, I’m a messy crafter. I tend to NOT clean up after each project, and so, with each new craft session, I must first clean off the table and return supplies to their homes before beginning a new craft. But on this particular crafting morning, I didn’t have a plan.
I looked at the crafty goodness and other “junk” laying on the table and considered what to do. I had a stack of disposable plates I had used for a photo shoot, some egg stickers still in their packaging, and some ribbon.

The delicate pastel disposable plate is pretty enough to display, I thought. And, from there, the Easy Easter Egg Door hanger was born. Here’s how I did it…
Easy Easter Egg Door Hanger
Supplies:
- Vintage Disposable Plates
- Hello Rub-ons
- Easter Egg Stickers (I got mine at Jo Ann Fabric & Crafts)
- Ribbon
- Hole Punch (I use a Crop-a-dile, a heavy duty punch for plastic, wood & more)
Method:
- Add rub-on greeting.
- Layer and overlap egg stickers along the bottom. Remove backing and stick to plate.
- Hole punch the top of the disposable plate, being careful to not punch too hard as to crack the plastic plate.
- Add ribbon for hanging.
- Remove stickiness from stickers. See tip*
Tip: Flip over the hanger. Sprinkle a little baby powder over the exposed stickers. Gently wipe to cover and tap to remove excess. This will remove the stickiness of the sticker!
It really is just as easy as that! This would be a fun Easter project for a classroom or any home with little kids! Hang it on a bedroom door. Maybe add a child’s name instead of a greeting!
