Decorating for Valentine’s Day is so much fun. I love the bright pop of red in the craft room that this Be Mine Valentine Banner adds. Made with felt and festive ribbons, it’s easy to make and doesn’t take any time at all to put together. Hang it on a wall, door, on a bookcase, or even your headboard. I promise you will love this Valentine banner as much as I do.

Where would you hang this fun Valentine’s Day banner? Let me show you how to make it and then you can tell me what you’d do with it!
Be Mine Valentine Banner
I used some handy dandy crafting tools to cut out my felt banners but you could certainly draw your shape on red felt and cut them with a scissor. See my notes below for the tools I have on hand to make crafting easier.
Supplies for the Be Mine Valentine Banner:
- Red crafting felt
- Felt letters
- Red, white, and baby blue ribbons
- Thick baker’s twine
- Hot glue gun & glue sticks
- Heart Embellishments (optional)
How to make the Be Mine Valentine Banner:
- Cut out banner shape from red felt (see note below for the tools I used)
- Adhere felt letters. Don’t care for “Be Mine?” Choose your own phrase!
- Cut desired length of baker’s twine. The length of mine was 65 inches with 1 inch loops on each end.
- Make a loop by tieing a knot at each end of the bakers twine for hanging.
- Attach each banner letter to the twine using hot glue gun. The die I used for cutting out my felt had a scored edge for folding over. I laid a line of hot glue along that edge and folded over the felt to attach.
- Cut ribbons. I cut each ribbon to 8 inches and glued them together. Then I folded the ribbon bundle over the twine and hot glued them in place by pinching them together and gluing in the fold. I made 5 bundles of ribbons and placed them between each letter (but not at the ends).
- I added a gold chipboard heart embellishment to the ribbon between “be” and mine.” I think I’ll go back and add a heart to each set of ribbons.
Tools for making a Be Mine Valentine Banner
I have this die cutting machine. I’m able to cut paper, material, and even felt (regular and stiff). It makes cutting shapes go quickly and cuts perfectly every time.
I used this die cutting banner set from The Stamp Market. It cut and scored along the top edge and made folding over the felt so easy.
