After twelve years, one would think I’d know everything about Arkansas. How did I not know about the City of Batesville Christmas Tour of Lights? Batesville is just an hour north of where I live and a quaint town that has been growing on me this last year. I helped open the TJ Maxx there back in May and spent a couple of weeks driving back and forth. The people are super friendly, the town busy and thriving (at least I think it’s thriving), and now I know that it’s magical at Christmas.
I’m so glad that my parents found this Christmas light display in Batesville. I’m sure it’s going to become a tradition to visit.
City of Batesville Christmas Light Tour
My parents happened upon the Christmas light display last year while looking for a restaurant in Batesville. We meant to visit after they returned home to Heber but time slipped away.
This year, we arrived at the perfect time-5:30-5:45pm. The sun had just set and it was just getting dark. The line to enter the park wasn’t too long yet and the roll into the park was steady.
There was plenty of parking so we stopped halfway to walk through the second half.
The City of Batesville Christmas Light Tour is totally free. For a small fee each, there is a horse-drawn carriage ride, a train ride, and even ice skating!
We’ve had some really great weather in Arkansas this week. High 50s yesterday-I didn’t even wear a jacket as we walked through the Christmas light display.
I loved walking through and hearing the Christmas music playing from the ice skating rink. There’s a radio station to tune into for Christmas music as you drive through as well.
I loved spending this time wih my parents. It really put us in the holiday mood and filled us with cheer!
Take a little peek at the City of Batesville Christmas Tour of Lights and then go visit in person!
I’m already looking forward to next year! Have you ever been to a Christmas light display?
Pin this for later!
