Gathering around the Thanksgiving table was always a jostling, elbow-in-the-ribs, fight for the best seat at the table event when I was growing up. These Thanksgiving Turkey Place Cards would have come in handy. Of course, my cousins would have found a way to switch the place cards and steal the best spot right next to the turkey anyway.

Fall is my most favorite time of the year to craft. I blame it on pumpkins.
These fun turkey themed place cards are easy enough for the kids to make while the turkey is roasting. Add some Thanksgiving Treat Cups and everyone will have adorable favors to take home!
Thanksgiving Turkey Place Cards
A beautifully set table doesn’t have to be super fancy, formal, or stuffy. Leave the stuffy-ness for the turkey. Have fun with paper! An easy Thanksgiving tablescape can be put together with cute supplies from your local dollar store, even! Add a whimsical paper pumpkin centerpiece, too.
Supplies:
- 2 sizes craft wood-slice rounds (small)
- patterned papers
- pumpkin template
- scissor
- hot glue gun
- tiny wooden spoons, optional
- marker, optional
How-to:
- Trace pumpkin template onto patterned paper; cut out.
- With the pattern facing you, fold back two of the petals.
- Flip around and fold the two folded petals again; hot glue to secure
- Hot glue together the two folded petals to form a base.
- Attach the bigger wood slice to the bottom front of “feathers.”
- Hot glue the smaller wood slice to the top of the bigger wood slice”
- Optional: use the marker to add a face.
- Optional: Instead of the smaller wood slice, use half of the wooden spoon; hot glue to the bigger wood slice.
- Add names to the bottom of the wood slice with a marker. Extra points: wood burn the names and give them as favors!
I made an extra large turkey using a larger wood slice I had in my stash. The larger turkey was top heavy so I just made a little stand out of kraft paper to attach to the back.
I like the look of the Thanksgiving turkey place cards without faces but it might be fun for kids to draw on faces or add felt faces!
It would also be fun for them to add decorations to each “feather.” Some things they could use:
- gems
- feathers
- glitter glue
- beads
- twine
