Letterboards are all the rage right now. I have (ahem) a few of them myself. I thought it would be cute to make these Mini Faux Letterboard Christmas Gift Tags to attach to gift bags and presents. They’re a fun and creative way to give gifts and can be used for birthday and anniversary presents, too; just switch up the paper frames in any pattern and color.

These tiny faux letterboards take minimal supplies and are easy to put together. Let’s make them!
Mini Faux Letterboard Christmas Gift Tags
The faux letterboard portion of these gift tags are actually scraps of C Flute Corrugated paper I had in my paper stash. I LOVE this paper-crafting supply and finding just a few scraps reminded me that I need to stock up.
Gather these supplies:
- C Flute Corrugated flute in black & white (there are also these pre-cut squares.
- Patterned paper. I’m in love with this pad for Christmas.
- Stickers
- Twine
- Scissor
- Ruler
- Exacto knife
- Hot Glue gun & glue
- Small hole punch
Method:
- Cut corrugated paper to desired size (mine are 2 1/2″ square for the black and the white is cut about the same but rectangular.)
- Cut a square piece of patterned paper about 1/2 inch larger than your corrugated square.
- Use a ruler and exacto knife to cut out a middle square of the patterned paper creating a frame.
- Apply a very thin layer of hot glue around the front edges of the corrugated square and affix the frame to the corrugated board.
- Optional: cover the back of the corrugated paper with matching patterned paper for a finished look. This really isn’t necessary since the back looks just fine.
- Hole punch the center of the patterned paper frame and insert twine. Tie off at the top to make a hanger.
- Add an alphabet sticker for the recipient. If you have stickers small enough, add their whole name.
These mini faux letterboards are so easy and fun to make. Prep them assembly-line style and put together a few of them in under twenty minutes.
Add a magnet on the back and they become ‘fridge letterboards. Hang ’em on the tree for mini letterboard ornaments. The possibilites are endless. How would you use them?
