How I’m spending my fall; amongst the mums and doing all the fall things.
Read on for an autumn update…
Amongst the Mums
I miss the space where I just jumped on real quick to update everyone on what I had for dinner, or what I was working on, what the cat was up to, or what delcious little morsel I had baked up.
Since I’m working from home now (yes! I work from home now. Unless you’re following me on the socials, where I tend to be, well, more social, I haven’t really put it out there in this forum) I tend to not do the “personal” blogging anymore and I miss it.
So, this is me. Getting back to being a little more personal and not so much business. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll still be crafting, doing tutorials and videos over on Desperately Seeking: Inspiration for Creative Living. Buuuut. I love this kind of post, too.
Speaking of the cat, Hop-Bud-Buddy-Kitty (he has many names), he naps amongst the mums because it’s a bajillion degrees out, still, and he can find a bit of shade. He also knows that this is where I’ll be if I’m outside; amongst the mums.
This year, my fall bucket list is loaded with more pumpkin-y craft realated items rather than all things pumpkin.
I’ve also had a diabetes diagnosis since I’ve done any personal sharing. I’m trying to work on bringing that under control, so, no pumpkin sweets for me. Well, maybe one pumpkin sweet but that was business. Ha!
I digress. On my fall bucket list: felted pumpkins. I took a class at Make.Do last week in Searcy. The studio is a non-profit organization with a pay-what-you can motto. How cool is that? There is a suggested class fee but if you can’t afford the total amount: you pay what you can. From their website:
MAKE.DO. exists to…
restore hope through creativity, connection, and compassion. We build community by offering creative classes to the public while partnering with local organizations that support kids and adults.
I had vistited Hobby Lobby beforehand to stock up on supplies. You’ll be seeing more felting projects soon.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m taking this day to clean up the craft room and take some pictures for a post. I also have some video-watching to do for how to better the shop. The shop, you ask? Yep. For now, the DSG Pop-up Shop is filled with Pumpkin Obsessed stuff, but I hope to add some hand-made stuff soon!
I hope that you, too, are enjoying fall and living amongst the mums!

I think personal blogging is about to come back in a big, big way. I know we all have to monetize and everyone deserves to be paid for their hard work, but I think that readers really miss connecting with bloggers. I think maybe we have gone TOO far into the brand realm.
That’s so cool about the Make.Do space in Searcy. Pay what you can models are so wonderful.
