With just a few basic supplies you can put together a few of these alternative Easter baskets in no time at all. Here’s how…
Easter Basket Alternatives
Really, any small container can be made into an Easter basket. What makes them so cute are the bunny face and ears. I had an assortment of cute vessels from one-too-many-trips to my favorite craft supply stores.
Gather:
- Buckets, Jars, Berry Baskets, Solo Cups, and Zig Zag Pot
- Stiff felt in white and pink
- Googly eyes
- Pastel pom poms
- Pink Pipe Cleaners
- Adhesive hearts (or cut small hearts from felt)
- Scissor
- Hot Glue Gun
- Green Crinkly Paper Filler
Method:
- Cut outer ears using the white felt. Eyeball the shape of a bunny ear cutting 2-4 inches despending on the size of the vessel.
- Cut inner ears smaller than the outer ear, eyeballing size.
- Hot glue inner ear to the out ear.
- Overlap ears at the bottom and attach using hot glue.
- Turn the adhesive heart (or felt, if using) upside down, with point at the top.
- Cut piper cleaners into (2) 1-inch pieces and fold in half. Attach to the heart with hot glue.
- Hot glue edges of googly eyes to heart.
- Attach 3 pom poms in a triangle formation onto heart with hot glue.
Attach to your containers:
- Peel off adhesive backing or hot glue the heart-based bunny face to the front of container.
- Add hot glue the the back bottom edge of felt bunny ears and attach to the inside back of container.
- Fill with green crinkly paper filler to resemble grass
- Fill with your favorite Easter treats, small gifts, or gift cards!
