To celebrate the arrival of Autumn I’ve been busy in the craft room making more pumpkin hoops. Version 2.0 is a DIY Pumpkin Hoop using a seriously LARGE embroidery hoop I found at a flea market last summer. It’s perfect for fall home decorating.

DIY Pumpkin Hoop
For this large version you will need:
- A large embroidery hoop
- Foam board big enough to trace the inner hoop
- Adhesive
- Large and heavy objects to use as weights
- Heavy duty box cutter
- Faux fall floral sprays
Get the detailed instructions for this large DIY pumpkin hoop, over at my Pumpkin Hoop Tutorial post. The steps are the same with just a few minor supply differences.
The only procedural difference is to use an adhesive (I used E6000 glue, affiliate link) to attach the inner hoop to the foam board.
Let it dry overnight, under the weight of heavy objects. Ensure the weight is evenly distributed over the entire hoop.
Fall Home Decorating
The DIY Pumpkin Hoop would look so great with a little welcome plaque attached, wouldn’t it? I wasn’t able to find one I liked in time for this post, but I will continue the search!
My yearly fall mum is a gorgeous light lavender and even the Cove Creek Creatures seem to like it.
To attach the faux fall floral sprays, simply hot glue them in place. I left a little room in that bottom quadrant to attach a welcome sign when I find the perfect one.
Apply a heavy duty picture hanger to the back of the DIY Pumpkin Hoop in order to hang it on a front door or prop it up on an autumn inspired mantle. There are so many ways to use it for your fall home decorating.
Let me know what you think about the DIY Pumpkin Hoop in the comments below, or as always, you can join in the conversation over on the Desperately Seeking: Inspiration for Creative Living Facebook Page.
Happy Autumn, y’all!!

Gina, that looks so easy and doable. As I write this, you are probably anxiously (a bit nervously?) awaiting your appearance on KATV’s Daybreak, and I know you’ll knock it out of the park! I’ll be watching your pumpkin hoop tutorial on the replay when we get to Mom’s later today. (May I have your autograph?) 🙂
Welcome to fall!
