When it comes to buying keepsakes and mementos on vacation, I’ve never been the type to buy things like t-shirts (never my size and I’m just not a graphic tee kind of girl) or snow globes. Give me a keychain (useful) or a magnet (usually take these to my locker at work). I came across the idea for my alternative Las Vegas souvenirs early on into our trip.
These photos were SO fun to take, gather, and print right in Vegas so that when vacation was over and I headed home, I had all my vacay memories bundled in my hot little hands.
In case you’re wondering, this isn’t a sponsored post; I just loved this photo store and it was perfectly in line with my thoughts on what Las Vegas souvenirs should be: a representation of the good times with my parents and a visual reminder of all the cool things we did and saw.
The Photo & Go store is located in the quaint LINQ Promenade, tucked between Harrah’s and the LINQ Hotel. They have a super fun storefront with computers to work at and a lot of camera and photo accessories. Alternatively, they have an app to upload pics and order from. Technically, I could have waited until the end of vacation to get my memories printed and had them shipped to Arkansas but how fun was it to take the pics, upload them, and pick them up ten minutes later? Answer: MUCH FUN!
I loved the outdoor photo booth they had set up in the Promenade. People stopped by all day long to take fun pics and upload them for a free print.
There was also this colorful grafitti wall that was an excellent photo op.
The prints are on thick, almost chipboard-like backing with HD coloring. They feel sturdy and durable. I’m interested to see how long the prints last; if they fade at all. It’s $1 per print, so considerably more than a traditional developed picture (do we say “developed” anymore?), but comparable to my Fuji Instax camera prints. In fact, the Photo & Go pics were so much fun, I didn’t even use my Instax camera.
I pulled these silly “family” photos, plus a few more, from my Instagram feed as well.
These are the types of souvenirs I’ll truly get a lot of joy from. I’ve already looked through them at least a dozen times since I’ve been home and I have a fun display project in the works.
So, tell me. What kind of Las Vegas souvenirs would you bring home? Tell me in the comments below or join in the conversation over on Facebook.
