Is it too early for a random #NaBloPoMo post?
Tomorrow marks the eighth anniversary of my move to Arkansas. Where has the time gone? I’m still in love with this state. I’m still in love with the man who brought me here.
I’ve been taking a different route home from work. A change of scenery does a mind good. Also worth noting; for perhaps the first time since the move to Ark, I’ve noticed an actual change in leaf color. It’s so subtle and muted compared to the beauty of fall leaves in Michigan. For the first few years I laughed when Arkansans mentioned the changing color. I’m learning to enjoy the difference along with the change of season (although-to be clear-I am totally, 100% against the impending doom that is winter).
This week marks the return to “big girl hours” at work. I’ve been super busy with some new tasks and responsibilities and have hardly a minute to let my mind wander while there. Maybe it’s exactly what I needed-feeling a new sense of purpose along with the busy-ness.
One local radio station is playing continuous Christmas music. Don’t tell anyone, but, I’ve been listening and singing along on the commute to work.
Confession: I don’t mind the end of daylight savings time. Darker earlier has my mind tricked; I’ve been to bed earlier two nights in a row and finished two books I’ve been struggling to read. Also, there’s daylight when I get to work.
I’m going to end here before the rambling gets out of control. After all, I do have twenty eight days left to post.
Happy November, friends!
