I’m going to be totally honest here. I only play at being creative and crafty. Like, I tend to only craft when there’s absolutely nothing else to do: blogs have all been read, Instagram is all caught up, Facebook statuses updated for all pages. You know, the important stuff. When there’s only crafting and housework left to do: that’s when the markers and washi tape come out. Plus, it’s just so dang hard to get into the craft room. It needs serious cleaning and organization-again.
I’m going on four days home (the scheduled weekend plus 2 snow days) and I’m still trying to avoid putting away the clean laundry and other mundane household tasks.
So, of course, I taught myself how to make these crepe paper tassels. And, of course, you need to know, too, right?
Lets get to it:
Gather: thin-widthed crepe paper; a scissor, or fringe scissor, embroidery floss or crochet thread in a color that matches your crepe paper & about 25 inches in length; double sided tape (heavy duty is better). Additionally, you might use a little bit of clear drying glue if needed.
Rejoice in the fact that you had the patience to do it! Yay! Moving on…
Step 1: Wrap a small length of double sided tape around the top of the tassel squeezing & securing it tightly.
Tassel make to your heart’s content. use them for mini tassel banners or little book marks. Here’s a little peek at how I’m using them. Enjoy!
