**Disclaimer** As part of a recent Arkansas Women Bloggers event, I participated in a free tour and tasting courtesy of Rock Town Distillery and received a free bottle of Peach liqueur. I have been neither asked to post this nor have I been compensated in any way. As always, opinions are my own. **
I’ve said this so many times before: Arkansas spirit blows me away. Moreover, the heart and spirit of it’s people blow me away. The fierce love and loyalty Arkansans have for their home is like no other I have experienced. The love not only extends to the land, lakes, and people of The Natural State, but it works it’s way into commerce, like that of the talented handmade community of artisans, foodies, and company owners.
I was privileged to be invited to tour one such Arkansas company founded by Arkansas native Phil Brandon. As part of an Arkansas Women Bloggers event I toured Rock Town Distillery, Arkansas’ first “legal” distillery.
What Mr. Brandon and his team have accomplished in the three short years they have been in operation is nothing short of amazing. They are committed to using Arkansas products in the creation of Rock Town spirits, from the grains to the lumber used to make the barrels, and even figuring out how to grow and harvest barley to be able to completely use all Arkansas elements. I love that sort of passion and commitment to community.
I could never explain the heart of the company better than the owner himself.
And, “the product?” I’m certainly no connoisseur, but I know a delightful fruity adult beverage and the Peach liqueur was certainly that {I’ll share Thom’s own recipe creation using it later this week- I may need to buy more supplies 😉 }.
Each bottle is handcrafted from small batches of spirits, bottled by hand {want to bottle a batch yourself? You totally can!}, and labeled by hand, too. Even the label designs, merchandise, and all product photography is done by Mr. Brandon himself. So cool.
To connect with Rock Town Distillery and find out more info, tour information, and your chance to bottle a batch of Arkansas Lightning, check out their website. Like them on Facebook. Or, follow them on Twitter.
