On Sunday I was working away on a project that was taking longer than it was supposed to have taken. It was also late-at least late by my standards.
I kept getting distracted by movement in the two small trees beside the house. Birds. Lovely little blue birds fluttering in and out of the Dogwood in the driveway. The cat and I sat in silence watching their dance with the leaves and berries. Soon, little finches appeared, too.
It was a sweet and beautiful moment in a day of feeling harried and late. There need to be more of the former, don’t you think?

Good for you to take time and enjoy life. This is something I really need to do more often–I have a hard time looking up from my work to enjoy the beauty around me, but when I do, all the stress just washes away.
