I know it seems like my Pin it & Spin it feature has sort of fallen off the face of the earth. In reality, it’s still going strong-I just don’t want to share because most of it is wedding related. In fact, my Pinterest feed lately is obnoxiously filled with wedding related pins. Golds. Pinks. Glitter. It’s all on there and I’m loving it. My vision for the day is becoming clearer by the day and fortunately I’ve decided on a theme and color palette that is classically lovely and industrial at the same time. I’m {pretty} sure I won’t be changing my mind.
See how I can go on and on about wedding stuff when this isn’t even a wedding update post? I sort of have a one-track mind these days.
Back to Pin it & Spin it.
So this pin had me at jar. I have a lot of them hanging around after #awbu.
The Pin: These lovely glass jars from Fancy That.
The Spin: I didn’t change up anything except the colors. I went with neon food coloring hoping for a Halloween effect.
Jars, Mod Podge, food coloring, water. All supplies any good crafter would have on hand.
Hmmm. Not looking so great after the hour-long drip period. The inside of the jar must have had a film that prevented the glue/coloring mixture from sticking? But since I used the same batch of glue/paint for each bottle, I couldn’t recreate the color to rebrush the jar. Onward I went.
Paint on newsprint. Isn’t it lovely? And on to the reveal:
The Verdict: Meh. Not so great. Streaks! Splotchiness! Color? Love.I had read through many of the comments on the original post and many complained of streaks. Some even offered suggestions of how to avoid them. I don’t really have a plan for these guys so I don’t mind the imperfection.
