**Note** This is not a sponsored post in any way. Mention of products are solely for the purpose of sharing my current favorite mediums and I have not been compensated in any way for mentioning brands. Opinions are my own.
If I’m being completely honest about the whole wedding planning process-I’m pretty much focussed on staying inspired as much as I’m focused on the wedding details themselves.
The wall above my craft room table changes constantly. Sometimes I pin up ripped-out magazine articles of crafts I want to recreate. Sometimes I cover the wall {it’s a really ugly paneled wall} with cork and pin collections of tiny treasures for whatever current holiday is upon us.
Currently I have the wall covered with tiny clipboards from an office supply store. I’m using the clipboards to keep fabric samples and flowers front and center. They’re also pretty to look at. Here’s one technique I’ve used to take them from plain to pretty.
Supplies needed:
Mini clipboards {mine are from Staples’ dollar section-yep, just a dollar each for these guys!}
Glue {I’m using Mod Podge products because it’s the brand I have on hand}
Glitter {I’m using Martha Stewart Tinsel Glitter, and it’s a big, big flake. Love this stuff-Thanks, Mom!!}
Foam brush
Painter’s Tape
Spray sealant and also a dimensional sealant/glue
A Feline Helper is optional.
I’m going for a dipped-glittered look with this one, so I painted just a little under half-way up with the matte Mod Podge.
Next, I dumped on my favorite coppery big-flaked glitter. I shook and blew off the excess {saved it, too!}. Personally, I really like this brand of glitter as it cleans up easy, looks pretty, and feels like very “quality” stuff, know what I mean?
When it was pretty dry {about an hour later?} I used the painter’s tape to make off parts of the clipboard I didn’t want to get wet with the sealant, and then I sprayed the glittered portion to seal. I let this dry overnight but the glitter was still flaking off just a bit so I added another layer of dimensional glue to seal in the glitter just a bit more.
I really loved how this turned out and now I’m wanting to half-dip everything in glitter.
Later this week I’ll share my in-progress inspiration wall {it’s always in-progress, y’all}.
