I wish I could say that I’m organizing my life at a rapid pace and whipping myself and this place into shape. The truth is,after three months, I haven’t made a plan. I haven’t even made it a priority. There are couple dozen excuses I could throw out but I’ll own my laziness.
I’m working on changing it. I promise. I started last night in the craft room. A typical crafting session starts with twenty to thirty minutes of searching for the supplies, plenty of tears after having not found them, and then another twenty or thirty minutes brainstorming new ideas. Then, the process starts all over. This poorly organized office sucks the creative juice right out of me.
Not only am I disorganized; I’m over stocked. I have scrap booking supplies hoarded in every nook, cranny, drawer, and multiple “pretty” containers I’ve been collecting over the years. It’s pretty clear that with all the wedding crafting I’m doing lately, I’d get more accomplished and use less Kleenex if I start in my workspace.
I’ve made a little plan for myself. Phase 1 begins with opening up drawers, files, boxes and sorting the contents into labeled plastic bins from my favorite happy organizing place.
So last night, against my better judgment about the time {10:30 pm-I was dog-tired and just ready for bed} I set a timer for twenty minutes, opened a drawer, and just emptied and sorted the contents.
Tonight I’ll continue with drawers and miscellaneous storage bins and do the same. Twenty minutes is enough time to get started and feel like I’ve accomplished something. Phase 2 {throw away, donate, keep} can commence as soon as that’s complete.
I’ll keep you updated {and not three months from now, pinky swear}.

Yea! you started. I am constantly trying to organize. My craft space is home to scrapbook supplies that are old enough to graduate from high school. I hope I get to use them before they are old enough for long-term care.
Just know you are not alone.

Good to know it's a universal problem-hahaha.
