So the plan is: spend the next two summers garage & yard sale-ing for wedding items that I’m just not willing to pay full price for.
Luckily, I have the best partner in crime-my own beloved and gosh if he isn’t the cutest when he finds a good deal. Not that he’s un-manly in any way. It’s just that my excitement over girly things like vintage plates and doilies rivals his excitement over power tools, wood carving items, and tiny oil cans {but really, who doesn’t get all googly-eyed over smaller sized items?}.
Saturday bloomed gorgeous and warm; perfect elements for a fun day of rummaging an estate sale and the only yard sale to be found in Heber-an indoor house sale. This was my first experience with an estate sale and I found it odd to be wandering through someone’s house flitting over boxes of socks and folded underwear {! who buys used underwear?}.
My finds of the day: crochet yarn and a file cabinet in excellent condition for only five dollars. The photos above are Thom’s finds. We both left happy and looking forward to many more weekends of thrifting and sale-ing. I really am lucky to have a friend to shop with.
Other items I’ll be rummaging for over the next two summer:
- Vintage dessert plates and bread plates
- Vintage cream, tan, ivory doilies-the soft, delicate variety
- Frames
- Clear glass candle holders and small glass tumblers
- Old books
- And, whatever else I can work into our vintage themed wedding
