You know you’re a quasi-food blogger when your significant other expects dinner, even a holiday dinner, to be delayed anywhere from ten to fifteen minutes after the food has been set out on the table for the sole purpose of taking pictures. And when said quasi-food blogger declares she doesn’t want to take any pictures? Shock and dismay and perhaps a little disappointment, too {his mash potatoes were perfect and lovely}.
It was a quiet day here; lovely and warm outside, hot and steamy inside. We contemplated turning the air on even. Dinner prep was an all day affair with multiple sinks of dishes being washed-oh how I’d kill for a dishwasher on days like today {should rephrase-I’d kill a frosted donut for a dishwasher on days like today}.
The only evidence of a lovely meal, other than the plastic leftover containers residing in the ‘fridge and a distended belly or two, is this cranberry walnut brie that served as a midday appetizer. Tasty and lovely it was. Cranberry sauce is extremely easy to make! I never knew. Also, I am grateful for cheese. Have I mentioned that I’m becoming lactose intolerant and am supposed to be giving up cheese? And, milk. And, dairy in general. Ugh. I am not grateful for that.
I digress. Back to this Thanksgiving Day. Post-tofurky clean up is almost complete and I’m looking forward to a new tradition we’re starting this year: a fifty two minute visit with this cutie and a glass of eggnog to usher in the official start of the holiday season.

I meant all day to get by or at least Tweet! That brie looks amazing. I'll let you keep your tofurkey though. My daughter is basically a vegetarian so I try very hard to be aware of that. I have enough chicken and dressing leftovers to feel the proverbial Cox's Army! Happy Thanksgiving:) I’ve a great giveaway going on now. Come link up:) http://diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com/2012/11/merry-merry-munchies-2012-week-2.html
