Another weekend wrapped up here at the Cove. Another weekend of no obligations, nowhere to be, with the not-fun chores {like laundry} taken care of first thing so that the rest of the weekend can lend itself to fun and games. I especially like these kinds of summer weekends.
Then only must do: harvest the ever-growing basil and freeze the freshly made pesto. Honestly, we love it so much, the frozen batch won’t make it past the week, guaranteed.
I made a little friend while picking the basil and approximately two point five seconds after posing for the paparazzi, this guy assaulted me like Alex Baldwin on photographers; jumped straight at me. It was the laugh-scream heard around the Cove. There was a boat full of people passing by {on their way to the lake} and I’m sure I was a sight with the laugh-screaming and continuous twirling {I’m told I kept turning and turning, presumably looking for the little guy I had flung},
There was much crafting going on and much pride in my ability to learn how to tie a sliding knot without asking Thom for help {in which case, I usually just let him do it instead of me learning}. YouTube was involved, however, along with a lovely lady with an accent. Button bracelet inspiration found here.
And, finally, a lovely, sweet way to end the weekend. Getting Thom to carve our initials into various things will never get old. And I’ll never stop squealing about them either.
I hope your weekend was great…I’d love to hear about it!

Looks like you had a great weekend! I can just imagine you going crazy with the Praying Mantis! Why didn't Thom take a video??? Maybe next time! HAHA! Also so jealous of your Basil. I didn't grow any this year. The soil in my raised beds needed some MAJOR revitalizing so I am working on that. I just have thyme, oregano and lemon balm because they come back every year. I have a huge rosemary bush but I am afraid this heat is going to claim her. When we got back from Florida she was too far gone and I dont think I can save her. 🙁
