It’s shaping up to be an exciting Saturday here at the Cove…with SO MANY things to celebrate I’m a bundle of energetic “let’s get this party started” momentum {if your senses tell you there’s slight sarcasm to that, your senses are correct}. No, but really. There are quite a few fun things happening this weekend.
First off, something I am totally excited for: Super Moon Saturday. I love a good full moon. And, one that’s 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter is surely going to make this star-gazer giddy.
Also, it’s National Scrap booking Day!! And, it just so happens that I have a cleaned-off craft room desk and a pile of new pretty papers just waiting to be used.
Finally, it’s Cinco de Mayo {ole!}. We’ve already celebrated with burritos, spanish rice, and some chips and cheese {mexican food?}. Now only if I had some tequila to really do it up.
I’ve taken some time this weekend to clean up some things here on the blog; Namely, the Recipes section here on the old blog. I’ve finally linked to the recipes I’ve made/photographed. Going forward, I think that I will not be adding recipes unless I adapt them so as not to ruffle any {more} feathers in the food-blogging community. I will, however, be doing what I’ve dubbed “Recipe Review” with a link back to the recipe’s source.
In an attempt to get away from this evil, time-sucking internet, I’ve been hacking away at the number of blogs I was reading on a daily basis. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I started out with 150+ blogs and whittled it down to about 30 {okay, -ish}. Perhaps I’ll have time to cultivate some interesting content for you, dear friends.
I’ve also switched readers. I was getting SO frustrated with Google Reader. I’d delete a blog only to have it appear a couple days later. After researching the problem, I thought I had it fixed…but in a slick second, half the blogs I had deleted started creeping back in to my reader. Kind of creepy, I know. Google trying to take over the world, me thinks {I’ve been saying for a few years that I need to take this blog elsewhere, but I have yet to do it}.
Alas, I have moved over to Bloglovin’. Here’s what I think so far:
Pros:
Love! Love! Love! that this reader includes pictures with the post title and and first few sentences of each post. I’m much more into blog posts that have pretty pictures {fickle much? and NOT that I don’t read your posts w/o pictures- I promise, I do}.
