Dear Old-Man Winter,
Winter time is often the worst time of year for me. 800 miles separate me from my family and I didn’t get to see them over the holiday. In fact, I haven’t been home in almost six months and homesickness is settling in. Daylight hours are short and the cold, windy nights seem to stretch out forever in front of me until, finally, it’s time to slip into dream filled slumber and wait to be reunited with my loved ones in dreams.
But…the deal was: moving to Arkansas had major advantages. 1. This is where the LOMYL is and 2. it rarely snows here. Let me repeat that, OMW. IT RARELY SNOWS HERE!!
And yet, for the second weekend in a row, you have decided to bestow upon us 3 inches of the wet white stuff over a layer of slippery ice.
Yes, frolicking in the snow was fun for a bit.
Yes, it made everything pretty.
And, yes, I can be an “outdoor kind of girl” at times.
But really. I’m over it now. I’m over tumbling down the driveway to get to the mail box. I’m over being stuck in the house for days. I’m over coldness, layers, and runny noses. And I’m SO OVER SNOW!!
Please send Spring. And blue skies. And flowers.
Pretty please?
Yours, {forever, if you’d just please go away}
