Christmas just hasn’t been the same since I moved to Arkansas. This will be my fourth Christmas here, but only the second that I’ve spent here since we drove home the first year…and I flew home alone the third. I miss the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I miss shopping, and wrapping, and the sounds of my crazy family filling the house.
…The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
On the other hand, work is the same-crazy retail madness-and so the quietness of my Arkansas Christmas is comforting at times. Also comforting- having my tree up and decorated and other Christmas notions dotted throughout the house. The mini-tree in the bedroom casts a warm glow over the room that melts any homesickness and frustrations the moment I step into the room.
And…there’s always Skyping to get that dose of family craziness…
