Life goes on here in Ark. I keep reading about writer’s block and how one should just try to plow through the block by continuing to write. So write I shall.
I finally had my hair cut on Tuesday. Can you say female mullet? I swear I’m the female version of Billy Ray Cyrus. Why is it that we walk away from the salon feeling renewed, refreshed, and revitalized…shaking our new do’s in the wind and loving the style all day long. And then, we wake up the next morning, glance in the mirror and we suddenly loathe the do? At least, that’s what I did. It was fine until I stepped out in the warm, humid morning air that totally ruined 20 minutes worth of flat ironing {i guess it’s worth mentioning that I didn’t have any “product” to put in my hair to keep it flat….i never had to with my previous style because it was so heavy it wouldn’t move}. It’s going to take some work, I guess, cuz today, when I had tons of time to spend ironing it and some proper “product” {humidity resistant Sunsilk hairspray} it looked fine. Decent enough, in fact, for me to actually ask to have my picture taken. I know. Amazing. Notice my skin clearing up as well? Really….it’s only photoshopped a wee bit.
In other exciting news…or not so exciting news: I had to have an ultrasound done this morning on my left breast {sorry Uncle Mike…I’m gonna talk about my chestal region}. Thom found a couple lumps in it the other day and a visit to my new doctor confirmed them as well. It was just precautionary though…the radiologist didn’t see anything abnormal. I wasn’t too concerned as little fatty-tissue lumps in women my age are common, I’m told, especially around “that time of the month” {again, sorry to my male readers 🙂 }. We’ll have the full report back in a few days…but there’s nothing to be worried about.
So….that’s it, really. Tomorrow I’m driving down to Little Rock to meet Alison. Some lunch and some shopping are on the agenda, I think. Hope y’all have a great start to the weekend!

OK…on behalf of your Uncle Mike: Never tell us again that THOM found your lumps! Eeeww….
We realize you live together and all, but Cmon’! Some of us have delicate sensibilites here…
Alright–Shuddering has stopped. Glad it was good news that they were only fatty tumors.
