forget about Santa, “naughty” and “nice”…….if you are are found guilty, that means an eternity it Hell.
Whaaaaat? Yea…my thought exactly. Thom warned me that living in the Bible Belt would be interesting. You can’t drive down the street without seeing at least 3 or 4 different churches and when Southerners introduce themselves they always say “Bless your heart, do you have a church?.” And most of them are well-meaning folks…I’ve had several of my customers say this to me…and they were all nice looking ladies. Or so it seems?
Today, a pretty, young, mother of two came through my line and at the end of the transaction she handed me this cool-looking fake million dollar bill with Santa’s picture on it. I thought “wow…that’s really sweet” and thanked the girl as she walked away. Then I read the back. Ummm…ok. Yea. I’m going to hell. This, apparently, is this woman’s church’s way of spreading the teachings of Jesus. The back was a printed message about living according to the Ten Commandments and following the word of God, or else. I’m all for people having their beliefs…but good grief. I wasn’t sure if I should feel enlightened or offended.
So…work continues to be very interesting down here in the South.
2 more hours til the most wonderful time of the year…My 19th birthday. lol

Happiest of Birthdays to you Gina Marie. Be glad that most of the people you have to see at work aren’t people you have to work with everyday! Office politics are worse (where can I get some of those Santa bucks to pass out to people here?). I like the fact your turning 19 today that means I’m still 18 until the 19th of January!! Keep filling us in on the quirks of the south, it makes for interesting reading.

Have a GRRREEAT day sweetie!
