ETA: Wrote this Sunday night but couldn’t post from Mom’s house. Between Blogger.com problems and Mom’s computer, I was pretty frustrated!
Day 2 of my 3 day weekend is about to come to a close, and happily, I can say that this mini-vacay is lasting a long time. You know how you look forward to having a few days off and then they go by in what seems likes the blink of an eye? Well, this weekend is exactly the opposite. It’s hanging on like an exhausted six year old unwilling to surrender to slumber.
Saturday mostly consisted of me driving all over the place for my mother. First stop was the medi-center in Whitehall because her back/hip is giving her problems again. Next, I drove from one Walmart to another. Then quick stop at Auntie Betty’s, a jog over to my place to pick up a heating pad I borrowed forever and a day ago and forgot to return, and then, finally, back to the campground.
Today, I was up early and hung around the house in my pajamas until early afternoon. When I finally got dressed I made lunch for everyone and jetted off to the grocery to pick up fixings for pizzas (and Tyler’s cottage cheese). Once home, I headed for the beach with the kids and Aunt Mary. Laid out for a bit while the kids played in the sand and in the little water path that runs from Lake Michigan to the creek. The water was extremely cold still, and I thought the kids were nutso! Aunt Mary and I laid out on the beach fully clothed: jeans, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. The sun was warm yet the breeze was quite cool. I read an entire issue of Rachel Ray in peace while the kids continued to play.
Then it was back home for dinner. Aunt Mary and I made the pizzas…yummy. Then it was time to head back to the beach for another awesome Lake Michigan sunset. I love living so close to the beach.
After the boys bathed, it was my turn to relax and turn on the jets in the tub..and as always I put too much bubble stuff and it almost overflowed.
Now…I’m posting here, and am ready to call it a night, crawl into bed and call Thom for the last time tonight. Always good to hear his voice last thing every night.
Had really sad news this morning. My great-Aunt Judy passed away last night. She was a really great lady and a really great friend to my Grandma K. I will miss her much.
love to all,

Hope you’re all having a great weekend.
