I’ve always wished I had some sort of musical talent…I love to sing…but my voice isn’t that great. Although…Michelle. in all her musical-expert-glory says I could do Opera…this coming from my days working in receiving and singing into the back of empty semi-trucks. I’m quite the entertainer when I want to be.
Melly tried to teach me to read music and play the piano when we were younger…I just didn’t have the patience. And, of course, she spent hours on end playing while I tried to sing along. Poor girl.
And then there’s Karaoke…we used to have karaoke parties at our house on Sullivan. I loved when my mom’s friends showed up early to set up the equipment…I’d have plenty of alone time in the basement, just me and the mic, belting out tunes…sometimes off-key, but in my head I always sounded good.
I sing out loud, too. Melly and I used to discuss this a lot. I sing while I’m driving and while I’m waiting in line. I sing to commercials, adverts, listning to the radio. I’ve never heard her sing along. When I asked her why, she had a really funny answer…something to do with ghosts possibly riding along and listening. If there are ghosts riding along with me unknowingly, they’re always treated to a tune.
In the mornings I like to WAKE UP ROCK HARD (lol) with Andy O.

Oh…oh oh..and my favorite song from the ’80’s just came on….Here I Go Again by Whitesnake….This song rocks…I LOVE IT. It’s the first song I heard played live by a band that came to our school for an assembly. I think I was in 8th grade..and we walked over to the SO COOL high school to watch them. (I’m totally singing out loud right now).
So..that’s what I’m doing now…listening to MRR…singing to myself…and even dancing just a bit.
